This is a concise but thorough Pediatrics text, very adequate for a core Pediatrics clerkship in Medical School. It can also serve as an initial tool in a Board review, because as you read the text, you can see what areas you might need to review in a deeper manner. The graphs, tables, and pictures are sharp, colorful and detailed enough to convey the basic knowledge concepts. There are adequate references to satisfy a more interested reader.

I bought this for my third year pediatric clerkship, and let me just begin by saying that it is excellent for hammering through the details of important pediatric topics.
The format is generally a pediatric problem (for instance, the GI chapter was divided by symptoms) followed by detailed (but not overly-detailed) explanations of the listed differential diagnoses, and the appropriate treatments.
In my honest opinion, however, this book is NOT recommended for the pediatric clerkship (8 weeks at my school) unless you're just some kind of monster speed-reader (which I am not). But if you're interested in pediatrics - like myself - this book is great for increasing your knowledge on key topics and really shining on prepared presentations.
