This was such a good read. If you've read the books up until now, then you know what to expect.

In this go around, there are a few High Schools that are going on an eco friendly cruise, and some of the things they do on the cruise will be used for class credit. Rosewood is one of the schools that goes, and where Rosewood goes, A is sure to follow.

Hanna-A good part of the story is focused on Hanna. Something she does early on in the book plays a key role on the plot. Something happens, and Hanna and the Pretty Little Liars thinks nobody saw it, but of course A did, and uses it as a weapon against the Pretty Little Liars. When she's on the cruise, she runs into someone from her past, and trusts her, but is that a mistake?

Spencer-She continues her friendship with Reefer, and someone besides A, sets their sights on Spencer and will do anything to take her out.

Aria-She starts us a friendship with someone, but at what cost? Then she's given something that will change her life.

Emily-Is getting very close to someone she met on the cruise, but this person has secrets that she has to keep to herself, at all costs.

With all of this going on, the Pretty Little Liars realize that A is on the ship and they try to find out who A is. The problem is that A is set to spill all of the Pretty Little Liars secrets at any given time. That's all I really want to say about the plot, anything more, and I'd be giving things away.

I was glad to see that The Jamaican Thing is still in play. We learn more about that, and some pretty hard choices that The Pretty Little Liars have to make.

This book sets up the next on in the series, Crushed, beautifully.
This was, by far, my least favorite book in the series. I ended up putting it down for months, completely forgetting about it and I just picked it up to finish it. What a waste of time. It is almost entirely filler with no real new information toward the main plot. I understand that this is a cash cow for the author, but wouldn't she rather end it on a good note instead of dragging it out with terrible and increasingly unbelievable plot lines that have zero value to the story as a whole?

It's getting old. The characters are becoming insufferable (especially Emily's whiny non-realistic fall-in-love-with-every-girl-that-looks-at-her attitude). It's predictable and follows the same "SO-AND-SO IS A (but not really)" formula as the other books. It's never the person they think it is, because this story has to continue on forever!

Not to mention, if you've read all the other books (which you probably have if you're are the far in) you have to wade through incessant amounts of backstory. We get it. We know the basic plot. I don't need to be reminded that "Ali who was the real Ali, not their Ali, who was actually not Ali, but Ali's twin who was in a mental hospital but switched places with Ali because I'm going for the record amount of times to say the word 'Ali; in one book, their Ali, real Ali, Ali Ali Ali Alialialialialiali;alhdg." It's just more repetitive filler. Maybe it's just me, but I like when authors assume I'm somewhat intelligent and can remember the main characters instead of literally spelling everything out for me.

At this point I'm reading it out of obligation. Perhaps I have outgrown this series, but I've invested time and money in twelve books. I like most of them.
