The Entrepreneur Mind: 100 Essential Beliefs, Characteristics, and Habits of Elite Entrepreneurs Description
To achieve unimaginable business success and financial wealth—to reach the upper echelons of entrepreneurs, where you’ll find Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Sara Blakely of Spanx, Mark Pincus of Zynga, Kevin Plank of Under Armour, and many others—you have to change the way you think. In other words, you must develop the Entrepreneur Mind, a way of thinking that comes from learning the vital lessons of the best entrepreneurs.
In a praiseworthy effort to distill some of the most important lessons of entrepreneurship, Kevin D. Johnson, president of multimillion-dollar company Johnson Media Inc. and a serial entrepreneur for several years, shares the essential beliefs, characteristics, and habits of elite entrepreneurs. Through the conviction of his own personal experiences, which include a life-changing visit to Harvard Business School, and the compelling stories of modern-day business tycoons, Johnson transforms an oftentimes complex topic into a lucid and accessible one.
In this riveting book written for new and veteran entrepreneurs, Johnson identifies one hundred key lessons that every entrepreneur must learn in seven areas: Strategy, Education, People, Finance, Marketing and Sales, Leadership, and Motivation. Lessons include how to think big, who makes the best business partners, what captivates investors, when to abandon a business idea, where to avoid opening a business bank account, and why too much formal education can hinder your entrepreneurial growth.
Smart and insightful, The Entrepreneur Mind: 100 Essential Beliefs, Characteristics, and Habits of Elite Entrepreneurs is the ultimate primer on how to think like an entrepreneur.

I have read hundreds, if not over one thousand business and self-help books; never seen an author so focused solely on himself and his accomplishments. I have read books by Trump where he is pompous, but one could easily argue Trump has fully earned it. I understand an author needs to build credibility with his/her audience, but an author must build credibility with facts and less about opinions. Directly comparing one of his college start-ups to Facebook, friends think I am a genius because I scored so high on the SAT, brilliant programmers like us, etc. Visited Harvard Business School, but just not for him, his time is just too valuable to waste on an MBA at Harvard. The self promotion was so great, it made it difficult to understand his points he was trying to convey. The author is convinced every business he ever started became best in class. I found the content to be informative and I liked how each chapter was a short factoid. Repeated same facts over and over too much as if each chapter was its own separate publication, we learned ten times that he attended Morehouse College. Many of the points were very valid, but author needs to find better ways to convey points than always his own experiences blown up with grandiose adjectives.

From cover to cover, The Entrepreneur Mind inspired me, reassured me and motivated me to become a better entrepreneur. I have read this book 3 times and each time I learn something new to apply to my business. Kevin used his real world experience to give us insight on the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. I have admired his work ethic for years and this book allows me to use his experience to push my business in the right direction.
The Strategy section was the most needed section for me and my business. As a small business owner, often times strategy is overlooked because you are busy with the day in and day out task of running a business. This section taught me that I need to "widen my scope of reality" beyond my own experience to take my business to the next level. The Motivation section was the most inspiring section. I learned to become successful; I need to make sure I have "the right motivation."
I recommend this book for aspiring entrepreneurs as well as seasoned entrepreneurs. This is by far the best entrepreneurship book around.
