Buffy: The Making of a Slayer Description
Review
"What is outstanding is the variety of colour photographs included and some of these are really superb. Many are full page and some double-page ... At the back of the book, there is an enormous bibliography in case you missed any of the associated books, let alone all the comics, canon and otherwise, to this point."

"This beautiful hardcover book comes in a clamshell slipcase and is the first authorized, fully illustrated retrospective of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It’s full of pictures and commentary that give a behind-the-scenes look at everyone’s favorite slayer. You’ll learn about the characters and mythology of the universe and how it developed further with each season while you drool over the 120 images of the cast, props, and show memorabilia."

This book is awesome! The foil stamped slip case with the magnetic closure is even nicer than the recently released Inside HBO's Game of Thrones foil stamped clamshell. I am glad that studios are finally realizing that us fans want more content, more in depth looks into project development and behind the scenes info on what it took to produce said project.
Granted, if you have watched and own the seven seasons of Buffy and have seen the special features, this book will seem to be lacking a lot of new info. There is a good forward by Tara (Amber Benson) and a good recap of key points throughout all seven seasons. Any die-hard fan won't need these season high lights recapped for them, but never the less, I like the structure of this book. But this book isn't really trying to bring too much new info to us Whedon and Buffy fans, this book is more of a retrospective and celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
There are some quotes and bits of interviews from David Fury, Jane Espenson, Joss Whedon (of course) and from the cast as well. There are good screen shots from the show in color that don't seem to be upscaled, there are some cool behind the scenes photos I have never seen before and the exclusive content that comes in the form of 13 artifacts is great. I won't give them all away as I feel like that's spoiling the fun for Buffy fans, but you get a page from the Watchers Diary about a slayer named Rebecca from 1793, parchment paper written in Nezzla demon language, the spell Willow performs to restore Angel's soul in the episode "Becoming" and a few more really cool artifacts.
