I find practice exams to be the most useful tool for ARE test prep. I passed this exam on the first try and this is one of the tools I used. It's pricy but there is a good resale market for these books if you're willing to go through the hassle.
I also think the Ballast guides are the best of the different brands of guides that are out there. The Ballast questions are much closer to actual exam content in terms of relevance and level of difficulty. I would even say that some of the calculation-based questions in Ballast are more difficult than what one is likely to see on the exam.
