I usually buy several books about whatever new electronic gadget I acquire as I do not find much about these things as "intuitive" as the younger set seems to. (I'm 75.) However, as this is the only instruction book I could find on this very new phone, there's nothing to compare it with, but I have no problem recommending it very highly anyway, except that the author states that it applies only to AT&T. I'm skipping around in it a bit as it's easy to find the info you need the most, when you need it. It's a regular encyclopedia of instruction so if you've decided as I did, that you just have to have this fantastic miniature computer/notebook/iPad/ereader/dictation machine/calender/phone, then I don't see how you're gonna manage without this book. NOBODY is that intuitive!

I was very disappointed with this book. It is written only for the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy Note. There is a huge difference between that and the phone I bought. The AT&T version apparently doesn't have the hard "Home" button. It only has softkeys. This makes the instructions totally different.

Also, I wanted to transfer my iTunes library. I went to the index -- no sign on "iTunes".
Next, I wanted to transfer my contacts and calendar with Outlook on my PC. I looked in the index again. No sign of "Outlook".

For my purposes, this book is useless.
