A MUST for any star wars fan! I just hope Disney doesn't cancel the series.... The world created by Ostrander in Dawn of the Jedi is simply amazing.... From the first lightsaber of the Jed'aii to the origins of the Order.... A truly fantastic read.

I am a huge Star Wars fan and jumped at an opportunity to continue reading the tale I first read in Dawn of the Jedi: Vol 1. In this offering we see the authors continuing to explore the depths of each character in new and exciting ways. An exile is left to contemplate his feelings of love, loyalty, and the path before him. A relic from the Je'daii's past finds a way to free himself from his forced confinement. A hound is set out to track down a once loyal friend so that she can remain in the good graces of her overlords, overlords that are bent on finding an ultimate source of power. And several young Je'daii must face their biggest fears as they race to bring order and balance to the Force.
As I was with the first installment, I continue to be a huge fan of the art used in this series. The vibrant colors and the smooth lines make the characters and settings leap from the pages. I was fascinated to see the use of lighter colored panels for the light side and darker colors used for the evil dark side scenes. Even the use of black and white in flashback scenes was a nice touch.
I really like the writing and the depth that the writers are including when exploring the characters. I found the relation between the character's inner demons and the exploration of their history to be well connected. The story of the forbidden chasm and the way the writers connected that to the way the characters past was fleshed out really worked well.
My only gripe is that some scenes felt a little rushed and convenient. I would have liked to see a couple more pages included in certain parts as the lack of more story made the tale look thin in parts.
Over all a really good second installment. Well done.
